Privacy Note

Marafeq Qatar LLC (“Marafeq”) and its subsidiaries acknowledge the importance of privacy of information. This Privacy Notice is a brief on the data use and protection measures adopted by Marafeq in relation to the information Marafeq may collect from the visitors and users of Marafeq website and services and how this information is processed and protected in compliance with the data privacy and protection legal framework in the State of Qatar, mainly Law No. (13) of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Information. 

 

By visiting our site and/or providing us with your information, you consent to the collection, use or disclosure of the information as set out herein.  Should you wish to withdraw your consent you must inform Marafeq in writing of such withdrawal of consent.

1. Collected Information 

For business transactions, administration and communications certain information may be collected from you; such information includes but is not limited to: 

 

1. Personal details such as name, nationality, date of birth, ID number and address; 

2. Financial information such as credit card or debit card details for processing payments; 

3. Communication information such as recording calls to customer service and written correspondences for records and quality control and training purposes; and

4. Random information for surveys purpose such as survey on customers satisfaction. 

 

If applicable and required, Marafeq may acquire or develop information about you using third party sources.

  2. Use of Information

Marafeq collects and processes the information required to provide its customers with services. Non-relevant information will not be collected or stored. 

Information collected is used to create and administer customer accounts, provide the services, process payments, customer service, carrying out market or product analysis and marketing our products. 

The information may also be used in connection with a legal, governmental or regulatory requirement in the course of legal proceedings or detection of any crimes including electronic crimes and fraud. 

 

Marafeq data processing includes collection, handling, storage, transfer and use of personal information you provide for the purposes identified in this Privacy Notice or as per the contract(s) you enter into with Marafeq. 

Marafeq will not use the information you provide for other purposes without your consent other than for compliance with any regulatory data protection requirements.

  3. Retention and Disposal of Personal Information

Marafeq retains your personal information only for the duration required to fulfil the purpose of the information,  as required by the company data retention policy, for such period specifically required by any applicable law or regulation, or for the duration specified in the contract(s) you enter into with Marafeq. 

Information shall be securely disposed-off or made anonymous post the fulfilment of the purpose in line with Marafeq data retention timeline or as required by the applicable laws or regulations.

 

  4. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

Marafeq reserves the right to share and disclose the collected information with (1) its affiliates who may use such information for the same purposes as Marafeq; (2) service providers contracted by Marafeq for purposes relating to providing the customers with services; (3) persons affiliated with the customers (such as delegates whether permanent or from time to time); and (4) any governmental body, regulatory authority or judiciary body in compliance with any legal or regulatory requirements.   

If it is required to disclose or share your sensitive personal information with third parties other than those described above, we shall only do so with your prior consent unless we are legally required to do so.

  5. Security of Personal Information Online and Offline 

Marafeq takes reasonable steps to ensure the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete, securely stored and protected from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.   

 

Upon registration with Marafeq, customers will be able to log into their personal accounts  through Marafeq E-Services Portal to request services and process payments related to the services provided by Marafeq and its subsidiaries. 

Customers are advised to keep their log-in details secret and not to unduly disclose it.

​  6. Access to Personal Information

You may request in writing to access or update your personal information available to us at any time in the future. Customer should provide written request for access or rectification of personal information to the Marafeq Customer service Department who are responsible for handling your personal information. Marafeq shall respond to your request within 14 working days from the day of request. Any disagreement arising out of accessing or updating your personal information shall be resolved by the designated individual or team.

  7. Complaints 

Any complaints relating to your personal information may be addressed in writing to Marafeq at [privacy@marafeq.com.qa]. Complaints are treated in confidence. Marafeq will conduct an investigation and assessment of the complaint to determine a remedial action as appropriate.  

 

  8.  Changes to Privacy Notice                                                                             

We reserve the right to amend or modify this Privacy Notice at any time to comply with any regulatory or business requirements.
